Book 18: “a graphic novel”

Between the new Avengers movie, the Daredevil series hitting Netflix recently, and my husband and I adding Captain America and Guardians of the Galaxy to our movie collection, I’ve been watching a lot of Marvel stories recently. It was a lot of fun to see these characters reinterpreted as 1600s Englishmen, and I enjoyed some of the more creative choices, such as making Daredevil an Irish balladeer. There are plenty of nods to who the characters would have been 300 years later, and the costuming does a really good job of communicating what their superhero outfits look like through period dress. There’s a lot more I want to talk about, but it’s all spoilers for the story, so I’ll just leave it at that. If you’re a fan of Marvel or Neil Gaiman, definitely check this one out!
